Shopping experince from hell
I went into the store to do my monthly groceries understanding that it would be busier than normal. what i did not expects is to spend an hour and half queuing to pay and the shockingly condescending and dismissive attitude from the manager who sees nothing wrong with spending an hour and half queueing. I alerted him to my terrible experience and he simply said well this is Soweto and there are many people shopping here, what else do you expect me to do (he says all this with a dismissive and condescending tone ). he is suggesting that because we are in Soweto we should just get accustomed to terrible service and not vent our dissatisfaction. when I press him further about other busy stores in more affluent areas he tells me, defensively, well they are not hypermarkets. he is adamant on denying my terrible experience and wants me to accept that queueing for over an hour is acceptable because this is Soweto. at no point does he admit that we have a problem. instead he goes on the defensive and even makes false claims that all tills are open. i point to him that over six tills are closed to which he responds (still dismissively) What do you want me to do? I am not sure what criteria pick n pay uses for but Mr Phineas (up for correction) does not even meet the most basic criteria. the idea that black people in Soweto should be content with terrible service for no other reason either than that they live in Soweto is abominable. Pick n pay is in competition with many retailers and as the numbers would show, its not one pick n pay is winning. having people like Phineas leading your charge against the competition is the antithesis of logic. he has no credible leadership traits. he deflects, finds faults else where and downright personifies incompetence. you do not deny my experience, you acknowledge it and promise to find ways to fix it. you do not lie about all tills working, you promise and commit yourself to fixing the broken till and staffing the empty ones.
