Selling rotten food

I bought a tray of eggs together with the rest of my groceries at the pick n pay at The Grove mall. On the 16th of May we started seeing little insects coming out from the cupboard, only to notice that they were coming from the tray of eggs. We had to discard the entire tray of which was a total waste and what is more surprising is that the sell by date was the 8th which now makes me wonder if we are supposed to finish a tray of 48 eggs in 8 days. I trust that the were already rotten by then. I wrote an email to Pick n pay with the hope of getting a response and to my disappointment , I have not had a response to date. I have been a loyal customer to the shop and feel that my money is no longer needed and will take my business elsewhere.
