Selling old broken stock and ******

Our kettle broke so my husband went to pick and pay Uitenhage and bought a "new" Pineware kettle for R180. Upon getting home and opening it we noticed the element was slightly rusty, but was'nt worth driving back over and changing it for a new one. Then we plugged it in and it tripped the power immediately. We tried all the plugs with the same results. So my husband drove all the way back to get his money back and buy a kettle elsewhere. Upon getting there the manager was called. It was a black lady. She looked at the kettle and told him the kettle is old. So he asked her why does pick n pay sell old kettles?? She tells him no he must have swopped the new one at home for an old one!! After standing there being accused of being a ***** she eventually just walked away and a white man came to help. He apologized and said there must have been a mistake when someone returned the kettle and it was'nt marked as faulty so it was placed back in the store. Got his money back with no problem. I am disgusted! Why was the black manager rude to him and did'nt even consider that it may have been a problem instore but the white guy helped him no problem?? Obviously your manager has a problem with white people. Also mistakes like putting broken items back in store is pathetic. Money we don't have to waste had to be spent on petrol to go all the way back there and this is the treatment he receives. We have been loyal customers of pick n pay for 12 years now and this is the thankyou we get. This was the final straw. We will go buy elsewhere from now on. Prices are stupid expensive too. Same kettle at clicks for R160 and I thought clicks was expensive.
