Selling expired food

I was sold an expired meat whereby the expiry date was hidden by the reduce to clear sticker. When I took back the meat the rude manager told me that he wont take the meat back because it was reduced to clear. So I'm other words he was saying it is okay to sell expired food as long as its reduced to clear. I am very much disappointed. Pick n pay herm**** central main road!!
