Security stole my lighter and management gives a damn

I've been through many things in life and this just has to top it all .

Im a courier in a very legit courier company (one of the best in South Africa) . As instructed i needed to do a collection of a microwave from pick n pay hyper by the sea Durban North . I had then followed up and went to do my collection. I am clearly aware that you do not have to produce anything to declare other than packets (from a customers point of view). I proceeded to do my collection in store from a lady Marlene from appliances. She then told me that it is in the warehouse and that i need to proceed with her to the back. I did as told and proceeded. A bravo male from Izikathi security then searched me and surprisingly he wanted my lighter out of my pocket . i then show it to him and told me that this is mine and as you can see there are many scratches and it is not from this store. He had forced it from my hand and told me to step out of the search room. I had then told Marlene to call the security manager(Ivan) . Ivan had then approached me and told me that all things have to be declared. I had then told him that I do not work for pick n pay and dont know about any policy regarding my own stuff being declared, i just want my lighter back . He had then reacted in a arrogant manner and told me that I must stand in a corner and that"police will come and arrest me".(arrest me for something thats mine). I had then phoned my company and told them about the situation. They then told me to proceed with the collection and keep it as that. After doing the collection I then requested to see the store manager Suren .I then spoke to the store manager but he seemed to be taking this as a joke and had got nothing resolved in my case.

I never expected this from a store that I've been going to for years. It could happen to anyone. What if its your phone and they disarmed it from you?

Regardless of how small a item . In my eyes they stole from me.
