Saying “poor service” would be an understatement
I just had the worst experience at Pick ‘n Pay Randburg Square and I can tell you for free that I’m never going back there again. So as I entered the store there was no one at the door to help sanitize our hands or even a sanitizer dispenser so we can do it ourselves as if somehow the store is unaware that we’re in the middle of a pandemic and that the numbers in Gauteng are climbing exponentially. There were no baskets or trollies near the entrance either so I stopped a store assistant to ask where I could get a basket. The way she turned around and looked at me you’d swear I was asking her to pull a rabbit from a hat so I apologized and said never mind. Now I’m walking around carrying my groceries in my hands, mind you I walked past a few assistants and not even 1 person offered me a basket but that’s fine, I ended up purchasing a quarter of the things I intended to buy. When I got to the till I realized that I hadn’t taken the bread. I could leave most of the items and buy them at another store over the weekend but I had to get the bread. I asked the cashier if there was someone who could please bring me the bread and she said no. There were a few assistants standing around talking to each other so I asked again if there was absolutely no know who could please bring me the bread and she snapped. She asked me if she should leave what she is doing and go get me the bread and I said no it’s fine. I won’t name the cashier because unfortunately she’s the only persons’ name I have on the receipt and I feel like this was a joint effort. The staff is poorly trained if at all. This store is certainly not living up to the brand. Pathetic is how I would sum up my whole experience.
