RUDE CUTOMER CARE OR UNPROFESIONAL STAFF

RE: PRODUCT UNAVAILABILITY ON DISPLAY & PROMOTION My spouse and I are pensioners and old loyal P’nP costumers for years and went as usual to our local Pick ‘n Pay Centurion Hypermarket at Lifestyle Centre, Hennopspark, R101, 0157 to look for an overlocker sewing machine since my spouse at *** still make and amend clothes for the house, children and grandchildren. She bought her sewing machines all at P’nP in the past. We went to the section lane in the shop where the sewing and overlocker machines are displayed for sale. My spouse immediately noticed the excellent price promotion on the same brand as her current sewing machine: “Janome 4 Thread Overlocker”. The promotion document indicated that there is a huge price cut of R2,199.00 which is a huge economic advantage for a single GEPF pensioner and lifetime housewife. The “Janome 4 Thread Overlocker’s” promotion price is R2,500.00. We didn’t even think twice and looked for buying the item, but we could not find a box with it. I went to the counter and asked for help and the male attendant just walk with us and then getting at the place it was supposed to be also searched for it and when he could as well not get the item; he told us he is sorry, but the item is sold out. I told him but cannot he go and just look to confirm 100% there is no stock in the store and/or as usual norm by P’nP give us a “rain cheque” (within its terms & conditions that apply) if it is out of stock and find out when stock will come in so that we can buy it for the promotional price as advertised on the shelve. He looked as if he was in a hurry to get rid of us old people and in short/blunt just said if it is not on the shelve it means it is totally sold out and he does not know when stock will come in; and whether it will still be available. He cannot help us further. I was very disappointed and furious, but my spouse said disappointedly I must just leave it and we must go home; she will try her best and carry on with her old Janome sewing machine. I wanted to go to the store manager, but my spouse said please she does not want a scene and it is obvious they do not want to help us old people. So, I took a photo of it and we left but I told her I will send a narrative to HelloPeter or inform P’n P headquarters for action and rectification since you cannot advertise a product on a shelve in the shop and then don’t have it or if it is sold out keep the adverti*****t alive on the shelve; then you must provide it. Other big businesses have such integrity such as Hirsch, Makro, etc. It is my humble demand that Pick ‘n Pay Head Office sell this product to my spouse as per promotion advertised on the shelve at their Centurion Branch whether over “Online” or to go and get it at the mentioned local branch.
