Rotten service at Pick n Pay, Riebeeck Kasteel

I was at Pick n Pay in Riebeeck Kasteel in the Cape. I purchased an item (2kg PnP brand sugar) at a comparatively ********** price. The packet was leaking with some of the contents spilling out. I returned to the store with proof of purchase to be told by who I think was the (white) manager that once an item leaves the store, it cannot be returned AND that I had no proof that the contents had leaked out. So I pointed out to her that unbeknown to me, it had been spilling through the trolley and if she wanted, I could walk with her to my car and show her that some of it spilled in my car. I was refunded but was astonished at the rotten attitude wondering whether other customers are aware of PnPs return/exchange policy or; whether this was the expected response for non- white customers or; whether she automatically expected that a non -white would not respond to her stupidity. The area is known for tourism and I advise tourists that they rather purchase their groceries elsewhere before heading for Riebeeck Kasteel. I visit the place quite often and I will not purchase anything there in the future and do not advise any one to do so; and I would deter people from doing so. I hope the store closes down and all their staff die.
