Rotten meat

Good day,

I am writing to lodge a complaint against Pick n Pay regarding a serious food safety issue.

Today, I purchased butchery sausages from a Pick n Pay store. When I got home and opened the packaging, the sausages were already off and had a very strong, unpleasant smell. This is extremely concerning, as spoiled meat poses a serious health risk.

This was a same-day purchase, and the product was bought directly from the butchery section, not pre-packed. Selling spoiled meat is unacceptable and falls far below expected food safety and quality standards.

What makes the situation more frustrating is that I now need to return to the store due to Pick n Pay’s error, which means additional costs and inconvenience on my side.

I expect: • A full refund, and • An appropriate response acknowledging this food safety issue and the inconvenience caused.

I trust Pick n Pay will take this matter seriously and investigate how spoiled meat was sold to customers.
