Rotten meat and broken fridges
Rotten meat and broken fridges On Sunday 9th my wife and I popped into PnP in Bedford Centre to buy some chicken thigh packs to throw on the braai. we bought two packets (amongst other items) went home only to discover that they smelt rotten. After a morning of running around the last thing I felt like was driving back to complain so we threw them away. That said though we have noticed that the quality of fridges in that PnP are hardly up to the levels we used to expect. Stand-up cooldrink and frozen goods fridges missing doors for weeks on end. The meat and dairy product fridges not working and standing empty and on quite a few occasions the smell of rotten meat and 'off' dairy products. Whilst I appreciate that the load shedding may be causing problems there seems to be a general couldn't care less attitude that prevails. Merchandisers shouting to each other across aisles, trolleys of products left and blocking in the aisles with no-one unpacking them. Uncaring staff at the counters more intent on having their own conversations than paying attention to the customers. The second PnP around Bedfordview is at Park Meadows shopping centre opposite Eastgate and that has deteriorated to the point where Bedfordview ignores it completely. I think it's time I started doing my bulk buying at Checkers in Village View Centre as an alternative. The floors are clean, the food items are displayed in an attractive manner and everything looks clean and fresh.
When I posted my original complaint I was somewhat annoyed and disappointed but this response has just made things worse. I really don't care about a refund what I do care about is the poor state of the two PnP stores closest to me and the poor state they are in which makes this type of thing possible. Instead of addressing any of those issues I get a litany of do's and don'ts as if I'm trying to get a freebie.
I think it's time to explore other stores
