****** twice by Pick n Pay

On the 29 May 2016 I entered the Meadowlands branch around 14:50 to quickly buy a few things.5/10 minutes later I realised that my bag was open and noticed that my phone was gone. I looked around to see if I somebody saw anything. I didn't know what to do next so I went to the security at the do and informed him what just happened. He looked at me like he was saying 'Well it happens all the time and there's nothing we can do'
I went outside, alone, to tell my son who was waiting for me. We both went back inside and I showed him the items I picked so he'd pay. I even told the 'supervisor' by the tills and got the same attitude I got from security. The same "We Don't Care About Our Customers And Their Safety" attitude.
I didn't know what else to do so I opened a case with the policy who can't help me either. I was so scared and confused. I felt alone and betrayed by Pick n Pay. I went to that store thinking I'd get a good service and not think about my safety instead I was ****** inside the store and nobody seems to care. My privacy was invaded inside the store. Two days later I went back to the store but the store wouldn't show me the footage for that time and the manager told me they will call me but I'm still waiting to hear what they saw in that footage. A staff member confirmed they have a problem with pickpocketing in the store. Sent online message to Pick n Pay Customer care on 4 June 2016 up to now nobody contacted me, from the person called by the manager to help, from the manager himself, from customer care- nothing. Meantime I'll be paying for the phone I don't have for the next 18 months. I feel betrayed & ******, twice, 1st by a pickpocketer & by Pick n Pay for not taking care of your customers

Reviewer Update

Received a call from Puleng, Pick n Pay Meadowlands. According to her the decision was taken by management to revisit customer service training after my bad experience ( and other many complaints from other customers). This was a form apology from the company. She told me because I took the case to the police I must let the law take its course. I told her the case with the police has nothing to do with their service but to blacklist the phone since there's no suspecct. Pick n Pay must take responsibility for the incident that happened inside their store which at the moment they don't. I should have been protected moreover since my bag, which was with me at all times, was unzipped and my personal staff taken. To say they will train their employees is not enough. I told her there was no warning to customers about pickpocketing and to that she said there is a note at the door that says "your bag is your responsibility not the company's" Yes, if I left it in the trolly or maybe on the shelve while shopping. IT WAS ON ME ALL THE TIME! That store knew about theft and pickpocketing inside the store long before that day I was in that store and they acknowledged it but they are not taking resposibility. What acheek, Puleng for suggesting that the reason for me complaining was because I'd be paying for contract phone. I'm still waiting for 'senior management responsible' Please, take responsibility!
