Retarded Queuing system
Pick n Pay, your customer/student loan queues in the Welkom branch makes absolutely no sense and are becoming a major pain in the ass for customers like myself who do their shopping on a weekly basis. First of all, your store is running the mass queue system, with one queue snaking its way to the pay points before customers are dispersed to their respective pay point. the queue snakes twice, the first along the magazine rack for about 25-30m, then it does a 180 degree turn, and runs all the way back along the sweet racks before coming to the till section. In this second stage of the queue, there is a double queue, one for students, and one for the other customers.. The first part of the queue is a single lane queue, which means customers and students are thrown into one queue, and then split as they enter the second phase of the queue. This causes mass confusion and a massive bottle neck as your customer queue runs quicker than your student queue. Customers end up queuing with students, or get caught in the first phase of the slow moving queue, whilst other customers jump ahead into the second phase of the customer queue that is moving quicker.. This concept is so confusing, down right idiotic and clearly not working, but nothing is being done to rectify the problems this system is causing. Customers are so frustrated!!! Secondly, this catering to the students concept has also started driving me and many other customers up the wall.. I don't know how these students are passing their classes because they cannot even figure how a queue works. I have seen on MANY occasions students queuing while their friends are doing the shopping and are passing items over onto the friend queuing to add to their trolley, in the process, bumping other customersand pushing them out the way. Students are buying CASES and CASES of soft drinks, infact, some of them having a trolley just for all the Coke they are buying.. Why are they buying items in bulk? That's what a cash and carry is used for. I'm sure if I have a business, Pick n Pay wont appreciate me emptying their fridges and buying all their soft drinks leaving nothing for other customers. Why are students so privileged in your stores?? If the working customers decide to boycott Pick n Pay and shop somewhere else, are your students going to keep your businesses doors open?? I don't think so! It's time for your regional manager to pay this store a visit. About a week ago I reported an incident that involved a physical altercation and one customer getting seriously injured in a Checkers store, due to unorganized queuing, which landed the store in question in a lot of trouble. Do you want the same type of altercation to happen in your store??? This needs your urgent attention!!!!
