Purchase of an Aim Convection Oven from Pick n Pay, Princess Crossing, Roodepoort
On Saturday morning the 30th Sept, my husband and I went to purchase 2 appliances from Pick n Pay, Princess Crossing. One of which we did purchase. There was only 1 Aim convection oven on the shelf, at the price of R499.00, upon inspection(as the box was open), we found that the bowl was chipped. 2 gentlemen in that department went to check for stock in the storeroom, unfortunately none was available. However, Pule checked on their system and found that Mopana(not sure of spelling) a Pick n Pay branch in Soweto had them available. I wrote my contact details and required product into a note book provided by Pule and he assured me that he would get the oven for me on Monday the 2nd Oct. I called Pule on Tuesday 3rd Oct (as he had not contacted me on the Monday as promised) and asked about the Convection Oven, at first he floundered not having any clue as to our conversation on Saturday. After reminding him about everything, he then remembered that he was suppose to get the oven on Monday. He advised that he would call back shortly. He called back to advise that there was no longer any stock at the branch in Soweto and no where else. I said to Pule that he had forgotten about me and had not checked his notebook on Monday, and he answered that he cant lie to his customers and yes he had forgotten. He then asked if I had taken a rain check on the Convection Oven as it was now R599.00. My response was that no I did'nt as I saw the price was R499.00 and did'nt know that it was on special. He should have told me to get a rain check knowing it was on special and that there was no stock in the store and that he would have to source one for me. He said he would have to speak to his manager about the price. At this point I told him that the Convection Oven was to be a gift from my husband for our anniversary on Friday 6th Oct. I then called Pule on Wednesday morning to find out if he had managed to find the oven anywhere else. His response was irritated, saying he had not, that he would let me know when he got stock from Aim, and that he is not allowed to order stock. When I asked if he had spoken to the manager that I could get the oven for R499.00 when he received stock, as that was the price that I had seen, he cut me short and ended the conversation. So at this point I feel that no effort is going to be made by Pule to get the Convection oven in time for me, or at all. I am annoyed as, I am, and have been a customer of Pick n Pay for many, many years. I am disappointed at the total lack of service. Hopefully someone at Pick n Pay customer service will actually look into this matter, and maybe get an oven in time for my anniversary.
