Presumed Guilty by lack of interest

Pick n Pay Monte Vista-I gave my domestic lady some chicken soup bought from Pick n Pay for her lunch today. She did not get round to eating it so took it home. Upon entering PnP she forgot to declare the soup. The reason why she was stopped was as follows: She bought milk and bread and whilst paying at the counter she took the soup out her bag to get her purse. IF she was *****ing the soup would she have taken it out her bag at this point??

She was detained by the security guard.

She called me in a state. When I asked to speak to security he would not take my call. I then called the store. I had to listen to shouting in the background whilst they called for a manager. Finally Chanel came to the phone.

I explained the situation and Chanel kept telling me that she cant say that she is innocent as the barcode matched the barcode in the store. I tried to explain to her that the soup was bought the week before and if not mistaken the expiry date was the 10th or 11th She was not interested. Chanel lacks customer service training and clearly has no idea how to deal with clients, well in this instance ex clients as I will never put a foot in this store again.

I called my husband who then went down to the store to again explain the situation.

There he was told by the head of security that he did not know what was going on as he was on lunch??? I 100% understand you, as Pick n Pay have to be vigilant, but no one was prepared to firstly take my call and secondly listen to what I was saying.

Why was no one asking for the Pick n Pay card to verify the purchase of the soup ***549367 All this over a packet of soup. Pick n Pay is clearly low on soup stock, so my husband left the packet with them.
