Preference over others...
Yesterday I went to Pick 'n Pay Chris Hani Mall to get a few items for my kids since they had closed schools yesterday. On my list I had included the 6x C***** smooth yoghurts which are on promotion 2 for R22. This promotion has been running from the 9th when I first bought it. However when I got to the store, the only proof left of the yoghurt promotion was the red sticker. I could not find any staff member on the floor to assist. I went to inquire at the customer service customer because the special ends on 22nd of March and it doesn't make sense to have shelves empty this way and this has become a regular trend at this store. At the customer service counter I'm told they have sold out the yoghurts because a daycare came in that morning and cleaned out the entire stock. I don't know what's more patronizing that I'm being told that excuse when we have a pandemic and an official announcement of schools closing or that one particular customer is more valued over a thousand others to an extent that they regularly stock up at this family store and therefore inconveniencing every other customer that may have planned to buy those items on promotion. In the end one is just subjected to rather drive to Eastrand Mall, Alberton or Eastgate to get the stuff you need knowing that you will get it and not waste your time by going to the store that never has stock availability because certain customers have special preference. Even with big retailers they would limit the number of item per customer and never have I heard of a business stocking up their essentials from a family store because of their buying power they should have a bulk buying order with the distributor directly. What your store is doing is not being considerate and long term does not make great business sense.
