Poor service for such a big store

Subject: Poor Service & Wasted Time Pick n Pay Everton – Methylated Spirits Purchase 01/05/2026

Good day Pick n Pay Management

I wish to log a formal complaint regarding my experience at Pick n Pay Everton on Friday, 01/05/2026 at approximately 13:00].

What happened: 1. I went to purchase methylated spirits with other few things, The cashier correctly requested my ID as per procedure for spirit. I did not have it on me. 2. I walked 2.5km home to fetch my ID and returned to the store. 3. On my return, the same cashier left her till to collect the methylated spirits from the kiosk. 4. While she was scanning the item, another female employee ran from the kiosk and took the spirits away from the till. 5. I was left standing at the till with no explanation and no product.

My concerns: 1. I followed the correct procedure and returned with my ID as requested. 2. My time was wasted due to poor coordination between staff. 3. No staff member explained why the item was removed or offered assistance.

I request the following from the Store Manager: 1. An explanation of the correct procedure to purchase methylated spirits at your store. 2. An explanation as to why the product was taken away after I comp**** with the ID request. 3. Steps that will be taken to prevent customers’ time from being wasted like this again.

I am a loyal Pick n Pay customer and expect better service.
