Poor quality, poor customer service

A few weeks ago, I bought a pair of leggings from Pick n Pay douglasdale JHB, I tried them on in store. As soon as I got home, I took them out the packet and discovered a tear in the seaming at the back which I would not have noticed in the dressing room if it already existed.

I went away for work for two weeks and then on holiday, I arrived today and decided to go get the exchanged while I got groceries.

I walked into the store with the Pick n Pay packet, and my slip and tags as well as the pants in hand and proceeded with shopping.

As I got to the till I asked the lady if she could exchange it for me with the same pants, but a non damaged one and one in a different shade. She told me I have to go to information to exchange. So I paid for groceries, took my eye off the bag in the trolley for one second. And proceeded to information.

At information they asked for the slip woth the previous purchase. I looked frantically for the bag I brought into the store with my pants... only to see it had been moved into a see through packet that generally carries all the cleaning products, and NO SLIP!

Now I explained this to the manager and the first thing he says is that I shouldnt have gone shopping wothout declaring it. Please understand there was a security guard at the doors that should have stopped me then because how am I supposed to know this.

Immediately I get met with a non negotiable tone and get told I cant return it without the slip. I explained what had happened and that even if I did not have the slip, surely, if I have the tag and my card slip from that payment that I can replace damaged goods.

A few.more managers came to talk to me, I was bought to tears as these pants I need for work and money cannot be thrown away like this! I was incredibly humiliated by the "managers", I was denied a right that pick n pay states, to have good customer service and fair sales.

At the end I met with the clothing manager who told me "I will help you but you will not be able to do this again" after clearly explaining I HAD MY SLIP! And had I not that still, if it breaks and it has.not been worn and the tags are still there that I should be able to get it changed to something that is not broken! He then proceeded to say that the shades are a different colour of the pants and I will need to get the grey again instead of the black.

At this point I have been there for over 30minutes debating and arguing, with a trolley full of frozen and cold items getting warm. But I am now expected to still walk all the way back inside, leave my trollow with staff I clearly cannot trust and waste more of my time and feel more and more humiliated.

I had it so much with the treatment I recieved I told him to actually keep it and I left without the broken (useless) pants and without exchanging it.

I am so shocked, I have never in my life been treated like a ***** because I am a paying customer!

Pick n Pay, how would you like to handle this? Because surley broad **************** is not okay in your books...
