Poor Customer Service
Good day, i went to Pick 'n Pay Liquor - Springfield, Value Center, Durban Yesterday to buy Two Redds Cider 660 ml and payed R39 for two. when i was on my way home i opened one bottle and drank, i drank first sip and i felt that the taste is not the same as the Redds i have drank before. i thought ay maybe it my taste buds i drank again, and i was like no.. man this is not the taste i know. i looked at the bottle to check the Best Before date to my suprise, the Cider expired on 01 September 2022. i went back to the Store and asked for the Manager, i explained to the Lady that i have just consumed expired alcohol from this Pick 'n Pay Liquor and the Lady Called the Tall Dark guy whom i guess he is also a Manager in charge at the liquor store, when the guy came the only thing he told me is " you are not going to be sick" and he was so certain and emphasized that, he told me to came with him to the liquor shop. i followed him. when we got to Liquor shop there was a guy by the name of Deon whom i certainly think he is a merchandise, and is the one loaded the Expired alcohol into the fridge, i was told "We can do the refund or do i want to take other Redds which also expire on 26 September 2022". I was so angry because the guy never greeted me and never apologised all he have to say first is " we will refund you" he never sympathized with me for consuming expired alcohol because of his negligence. I asked the Manager (Tall Dark Guy) "how do we fix this?" the guy said that there is nothing they can do then to give me my refund or take other bottles of the same Cider and those bottles also expire 26 September 2022.
I told them this is not the first time i am experience this, but previously it was one of the restaurants and the Manager there apologized and offered a free fresh meal just to try and rectify the mistake or their negligence .
The Manager (Tall dark guy) told me that they are not restaurant, it not the same. I told them it fine i will report/ complan where i have to complain because they are not taking me serious, Deon (Merchandiser) started to be sarcastic and giving me attitude when i am still talking to the manager, he asked me very ruddily raising hands on me " what you want us to do because we are telling you that we will refund you and also give you two Redds (Expire 26 Sept 2022)" i got very upset and told him this is not the way he should talk to me as a customer who have consumed something that can turn to poison because of the fact that it expired. He carried on with his surcusticsm bringing the two Cider on the till, "here is your staff, we sorry we sorry"
The lady at the till processed my refund of R49 and packed the two 660ml Redds Cider (expire 26 Sept 2022)
I consumed these Cider but my heart is not good i am not satisfied with the treatment i received mostly from Deon (Merchandise) and the Managers at the Store saying that "you will not get sick" while i am panicking for my life after consuming this" the Store manager did not even follow up with me before i leave the store, to check if my query was resolved and am if i happy with he way it was resolved . I was just left like that and left the Store.
