Poor customer consideration.

Pick n Pay hypermarket Steeldale advertised Grabouw boerewors 2kg for R69.99. Well, there was an inconceivably small kg sign next to it, I didn't see it & I know many others didn't either. be that as it may, the Wors in question was priced at R94.99 kg. I approached the butcher staff & they advised it was R69.99 per kg not R69.99 for 2kg. I was assured that I would be charged R69.99kg at the tills.

I put 1 of 4 boerewors packs through the till & was charged the full price of R94.99kg. Attempts to correct the issue failed & customers behind me were becoming frustrated. After about 5min I gave up & left without the Wors.

My problems are: - 1. The advertising was misleading as the kg print was unreasonably small. 2. I know many pensioners went to buy the wors expecting R69.99 per 2 kg pack & were disappointed. 3. The worse could not be purchased at the advertised price even after assurances were given that it would be sorted at the tills. How many people didn't check how much they were charged at the tills?

When Pick n Pay invites its customers to buy it ought to be clear on pricing, not deceptive. There is another example of this lack of clarity from the same store a week or so later indicating maybe it was not an oversight but a trend.

Steeldale Pick n Pay could take a leaf out of the Mulbarton Pick n Pay book for customer service.
