Points expirey without notice

Over the past 15 months,I accumulated a fair number of points, valued at around R500,in Jan,I noticed that R300 had disappeared, and was told, that as I hadn't used them, that amount had been lost. When I asked why I had not been notified, she was unable to tell me.I sent a query to the company's contact site, and have not even received an acknowledgement of receipt. So not content in reducing the benefit half way through last year from 2 cents in the Rand to 1c,they now Penny pinch R300 as well.I can only respond by voting with my feet and shop elsewhere.

Hi Harry,

Thank you for taking the time to address your concerns with us.

Kindly accept our apologies for any inconveniences caused to you.

Smart Shopper points are valid for 12 months from the time they’re earned. Only points older than 12 months will expire and not all of your points, and points older than 12 months will continue to expire on a rolling month basis. The best way not to lose your PnP rewards is to make sure you spend them from time to time. We always use your oldest points first so use your points to save even more on every day shopping or treat yourself to something special. You can switch points on the app or via the kiosk.

We are sorry you didn't receive the communication that points are valid for 12 months from earning date via our emails or on till slips.

We are busy addressing your complaint with the Smart Shopper Team.

We value you as a Pick n Pay customer and are committed to improve continually on our service levels.

Kind Regards,
Vanitha Venketas

Thank you for your response.I would have been a lot happier if you had responded, when I addressed the issue directly to your company, rather then having to spread it over a wider medium. As I mentioned, the amount of money is small, but I have had a large number of requests, from Pik N Pay ,in the past to fill in surveys rating service, and suggestions, very few of them even rating an acknowledgement, never mind a follow up.If customers are indeed important in your business,it is the small things that separate the good from the superb.
