PnP's oddly priced pork sausage offering

In the current Gauteng specials pamphlet PnP offer "Pnp Butcher's Pork sausages Assorted 500-900g or chippolatas 400g" priced at "From 34.99". I was in the Primrose Square store last week and looked for same - not in stock. Butcher said that it's a product "from the DC". When I asked for clarification on the pricing he was a bit confused about it and then decided that it was 34.99 for 500g and then the price would increase according to the weight of individual packages. I pointed out that therefore, the per kg price would 69.98 which was much the same price as what was on the shelf being his in-house pork sausages and what therefore is the point of this oddly priced "special".
