PnPay Online (Hemingways - East London)

I ordered from Pick n Pay online (Hemingways - East London) and was NOT impressed by the service..... I did wait for them to reply to my query using their "communications" link but its been several days now without a response! I have ordered there previously and have had a few items (maybe a few more than i had hoped) not delivered etc but accepted it. This time i ordered for a 4 to 5pm delivery. Order date 29/06/2020. No arrival by 7pm so i called helpline - they gave me a reference and would get back to me - still waiting! Order arrived imid morning next day without any prior notice! I accept things happen but sad that no communication was made. Then i was REALLY disappointed in what i got...... I ordered for around R5100 and i received ONLY R3765 with ABOUT 25 ITEMS NOT DELIVERED. Is that acceptable ? Getting 75% of your order? I read their T&Cs they promise to update items that are out of stock etc on their site as soon or often as possible.... really ? On checkout i was informed that cauliflower was unavailable so i chose to continue but NO OTHER items were mentioned. I went back online the next 2 days and was STILL able to select some items i had NOT received... REALLY DISAPPOINTING SERVICE!!! Especially as the majority of my "savings" were for items i did not receive. I did try calling the store but get put through to a dead line. I tried using their communications option on website and typed my story there with the order number - i am still awaiting a reply...... I have now read other reviews that i wish i had seen before regarding this store. So i thought i would just add my story for others ......

Hi

Your mail does not sit well with me..... it is a very "generic" response. Is this just to get it closed?
It certainly appears as such because the notifications i just received to say a call was logged with a reference number and then a few minutes later it was closed !? Co-incidentally around the same time as i got a response here.

The running late aspect is understandable and it happens.... and i would accept that easily ... BUT for it to be for a few days and nobody gets contacted to advise that there are issues is unacceptable. Surely someone should have been letting people know ?

I also do not accept the response regarding the stock issue. It could not have been "investigated" so quickly. The store may have said they had issues running late but that is separate to a stock issue. Did you query the stock issue ? How can i order and not get stock but can go online each day afterwards and still see the same specials there available to order ? Was this answered ?

Besides me losing out on the specials it also causes me to have to visit another store or order online elsewhere at another cost .... and surely a 75% goods received score needs an answer ? Are your pickers slacking ?

Anyway it seems i am just letting off steam here for no real cause..... overall a disappointing generic response!

So it seems to me that Pick n Pay online deal with the issues by merely trying to "squash" them with a quick generic reply AND if you ask a question regarding their reply well you just get ignored!!!
My complaint was mainly about the 75% of goods ordered being received....but i did mention the delay in receiving the goods. They chose to say that the delay was acknowledged by the Hemingways store as they were having issues from the 26th to the 29th. Um well that makes me grumpy because i had NO contact from anyone - and your T&Cs say that you wll undertake to make contact should issues arise. If it was an isolated day i can understand not receiving an update/warning BUT it seems that they do not care to update! AND i was not even really complaining about it but they chose to highlight and now make me irritated about it.
They also chose to mention T&Cs regarding the items out of stock - as expected! BUT i doubt they even contacted the store and just used the delivery issue as a means to close the call. There was not even enough time to have checked the query properly.
Getting a reference number from the call centre means nothing as it is marked as resolved a few minutes later !!! Why ? How ?
So just posting this in case people think the store has resolved the issue "privately"...... definitely not !!!!!!
