PnP service only getting worse
Is it possible for Pick n Pay to possibly get any worse!!! I have just been to the Pick n Pay in Rosmead road, Cape Town, and left without what I went to buy, and a compulsion to NEVER enter any Pick n Pay store ever again. I stood in the que for about 10mins, only to get to the teller and be told that she is card only, and cash cannot be accepted at her till. I asked her why there was no sign up telling customers she is ‘card only’, and she responded that they have no signs and she has been told to inform customers when they get to her!!!? This shows an absolute disregard for customers time. If there had been a ‘card only’ sign I would never have waited in that que, I would have selected another till.
At a time when Pick n Pay is steadily losing market share to Checkers and Spar, it saddens me to see you are not even trying to compete. When PnP starts closing down more stores and cutting back on staff faster than they already are, it will give me a certain feeling of retribution. Sean Summers if you really want to help PnP survive and avoid liquidation, get rid of your useless staff members/managers and improve the customer experience. I will consequently be doing my shopping at Rosmead Spar, 500m down the road. They might be a little more expensive, but it is worth it for the satisfying customer experience.
Farewell PnP
