PnP Online Delivery service - I scheduled a time and they did not arrive. No phone call, no email - no notification after we sat and waited for 1.5 hours

I recently registered with Pick n Pay online and was very excited to use their delivery service to avoid parking lots and busy shopping malls. I placed my order over the weekend, paid R1300 and scheduled the delivery on thier website for Monday 3 July between 6pm and 7pm. At 19:10 I tried to call 0 ********** 30 to find out where my delivery is. The call centre only works until 19:00 so I had no-one to contact.

We waiting until 19:30 and then eventually went to buy takeaways as no delivery took place.

I do not understand why we did not get a phone call to let us know????? PnP deliveries is not a new service. Can you not phone the customer on your delivery scheduale and just say sorry but we are going to be late or we are not going to make it. Can we re-schedule?

Also, on PnP online website it states that if the customer is not at home during the schedualed delivery, the van will wait for 10 minuites. If you do not arrive within those 10 minutes, penalties with extra delivery charges will apply.

So then what is the penalty to you the service provider for not bothering to deliver my food on the scheduled time, with no apology or notification? Can I make you pay for my take aways last night???
