PnP Gordonsbay still not taking Covid19 serious
Gordonsbay PnP store. I had previously complained on Hellopeter as well as on the PnP customer care email facility about customers in the Gordonsbay PnP store not wearing their masks. As their current process at that time was inadequate to monitor and address the issue, I suggested that they have security in the store who ensure masks are worn at all times. I further suggested that announcements are periodically made on the public address (PA) system, reminding people to wear their masks in the proper fashion. I also suggested that someone monitors the CCTV screens and when an individual is seen not wearing a mask, that the individual be addressed on the PA system. I was phoned by the owner of the store (Ram) and he assured me that PnP take the covid 19 pandemic very serious and that they have processes in place to address the issue of customers not wearing masks. I was in PnP today and in that time there were no announcements made. There was however, a client, who walked up and down in the store WITHOUT a mask! That is, he did not have a mask at all. He should never have been allowed to enter the shopping complex without a mask in the first place, but most importantly, he should definitely not have been allowed to enter the PnP store without a mask. And this is allowed when there is an upsurge of infections in the Western Cape and the very next day after the president’s address in which he again emphasized the compulsory wearing of masks. PnP regional management now need to take responsibility for this branch and ensure adequate measures are implemented to ensure the safety of their customers.
