PNP CLOTHING DISSAPOINTS YET AGAIN

Yesterday, I went to Pick n Pay Clothing in Barberton and found a shirt among the sale items that had a printed label that showed the price was R0 When I got to the till the manager said that unfortunately I had to pay the R180.00 that the label scanned. I insisted that I am to get the item for the price on the item. He then phoned his area manager who also told me that I will unfortunately have to pay R180.00 for the item that was marked R0 I then took a photo of the item with the incorrect price and said that I will take the matter further and the area manager said that I am welcome to do so and that they will keep the shirt until I could basically win the fight so to speak.

Since when has the consumer law changed? Since when is a store allowed to "change the price" and correct a mistake at the till? Who was the person who stuck this R0 label on the item and why are they not being held accountable for their poor job? Surely someone would have seen this (the person who printed it or better yet the person who put it on the item) if anyone was actually paying attention during working hours Have I missed something?

This has left a bad taste in my mouth and from now on I will only shop at PNP Clothing if my life depend on it. I will rather support outlets that own up to mistakes and errors and who still believe in "the customer is always right".
