Please learn from Shoprite & Checkers about discounts

After reading the review by Carmenlita D I am reminded that the problem is that discounts are not shown immediately when an item is scanned at the till. Only once the Cashier presses Total at the end does one total discount amount show. One has no idea which items have been discounted and the only way to check this is once you receive your till slip which most people don't do while at the shop (this is understandable as most just want to get away from the till especially when the shop is busy like at month end) . Most only discover that they have not received their discount when they check their slip at home. Why can't PnP show the discount app**** to an item immediately when an item is scanned, like at Shoprite & Checkers? At least then one will be able query and rectify at the till before you've paid. I sure PnP is making a lot of money from people who purchased discounted items believing that they have received a discount when in fact they may have not received any discount at all and sadly not thought it necessary to check their till slips. Therefore it makes one wonder if the way discounts are displayed at the till is in fact intentional....
