PicknPay Hyper won’t give service to people with disabilities!!

Hello Peter.

I am writing today to complain about the pathetic, abominable service I received from your company on the 1/04/2019. Your company was represented by an awful Yvonne Kekane who is a cashier.

I shop at PicknPay Hyper religiously when I am in the area,I am currently on a wheelchair and always travel with someone from home whom I find best to assist me with my grocery shopping, just so I don’t have to get employers from the store helping me in the midst of their assigned duties. We were successful as usual in finding everything that we need until I got a shock of my life from Yvonne Kekane,I made my way right infront of the que greeted her politely and asked her is I could pay immediately after she was finished assisting the one customer. I didn’t see that lashing coming from her, after she told me bluntly that “I am not special,I should go to the back of the que” I told her that I’m not being silly and explained that these are the rules that apply everywhere that anyone who is handicapped never stand in long ques. I asked her colleague is she didn’t know that and they both said they don’t know such rules. Which resulted to her assisting me after two white customers, she was absolutely not bothered by my explanation nor shaken that I’d report her on Helo Peter as she said I should just go ahead.

I am most annoyed at having to explain my situation and being told I was trying to be special. As a black women,I felt how irrelevant it was having rights because I just had to be served after the white people .How is it possible that all stuff members don’t know the kind of service they should give to people with disabilities? Is it only management that knows such service?

I trust this is not the way PicknPay Hyper wishes to conduct their business with valued customers. My dignity here has been tempered with and days after the insident my blood still boils. There is no way I’d settle to shopping elsewhere because of the convenience therefore I would like to welcome discussing this matters further to prevent the similar situation from recurring.

I hope to rapidly hear from you soon.
