PicknPay Hyper Faerie Glen

Bought a generator from PicknPay Faerie Glen on Tuesday July 10 2018 the afternoon. Spoke to a salesman by the name of Errol. This was the afternoon of the same day on which the Wapadrand substation caught alight.

Explained that I just needed a generator to run a fridge only - explained that it was sort of average popular fridge/freezer combination. Errol said the generator, a RYOBI RG-1200 could handle that with ease (1200W max)

Bought it, got it running but 2 days later and the fridge still didn’t get any cooler nor froze anything - food starting to smell

Went back on a Thursday afternoon July 12 and spoke to Errol who promptly denied that he gave me that advice saying that it would not be able to run a fridge. Explained that I needed the fridge to cool and was prepared to buy a suitable (more powerful rated at 3500W) generator.

Advised to bring in the smaller generator. Errol also commented that he was then going off duty and that another salesman would assist us - Errol SPECIFICALLY asked whether we had put in petrol and oil which was obviously the case - and was told it doesn’t matter

Fetched the generator and PicknPay said they could not take it back because nobody would buy it.....
