Pick & Pay online breaks promises
The online shopping experience is frustrating & deeply disappointing. I can understand several weeks delay until delivery, and even the user-unfriendliness of elements of their site, but the shocking lack of any customer service, the overcharging for what is delivered, and the misinformation supp**** is inexcusable from a company of this magnitude. I made an order a few weeks ago, in order to book my slot. The message received included the note that I could make changes to it up until 1pm today. I had made these changes by 11am today. After I saved the changes the message popped up "the cut-off time had passed" . I phoned customer service and she said that because they are so busy, they have changed the cutoff time. I pointed out that their notification does not say this, there was no message of this change in policy, and that these groceries are critical to us, as we are in isolation and cannot wait another 2 weeks for the next slot. I also sent a complaint via email to customer service. Of course, no response has been received, and I did not expect one, as I complained on a different matter over a month ago, and have still not received a response to that complaint. Pick & Pay have lost my business - with Checkers, Woolworths, and many smaller, more responsive companies stepping into the gap of supplying good-quality goods far faster, more accurately, and without routinely overcharging, there are many other options. Pick and Pay could have made another R1600 from me today, but clearly do not want it.
Thank you for choosing Pick n Pay & your recent online order. Please accept our apologies for the delay in response and any inconveniences caused to you.
Our call center is experiencing staff shortages & high call/ email volumes. They are trying their best to assist all customers the best they can.
We have done a follow up on this with our Online Team and have been advised due to the lock down and huge influx in orders they had to move the cut off times forward to allow stores to release orders earlier to cope with the large demand for online shopping. We value you as a Pick n Pay customer and are committed to improve continually on our service levels. We appreciate your patience and understanding at this very difficult time. Kind regards,
The Pick n Pay Team
