PICK & PAY KENILWORTH CENTRE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN

During these trying times, I was disgusted and appalled at the manner in which staff and customers at the P'nP store in Kenilworth centre disregard the COVID-19 protocols, putting many lives at risk. At the freshly baked goods section, the doughnuts, koeksisters, bagels, cupcakes and many more take-out foods were on display without any form of covering nor protection against germs; on display in the open for any and everyone to breath or cough on it; allowing customers to, touch the products and not buy them. There were no see-through screens and fresh food was not cordoned off. No hygiene and safety measures were taken in this section. No social distancing was enforced, and I had to call the security about 4 times to catch his attention as he rested against the entrance pillar - people were not donning their masks correctly,if at all, but he was not interested in my complaints and no one else intervened. As a responsible citizen, I feel that Pick 'n Pay owes it to their consumers to take every safety precaution necessary. Many people have and are dying because someone out there was selfish. I will never return to the store and also requested the Department of Health to send through their inspectors to see what is going on at the store - I received no response from this department either.
