Pick 'n Pay WORST customer service / Diarrhea & Health hazard
Hello
On Friday, 20 September 2019 around 12.30pm my mom purchased 2 x steak and kidney pies from Pick 'n Pay Sable Square. Two hours later she experienced the most horrible diarrhea / vomiting and food poisoning. She had to stay in bed for 3 days and the diarrhea lasted a whole 3 days. She needed to buy medication to manage the symptoms. We have the receipt. Looking at the receipt it says it's a PNP 2 Pie Promotion, which already makes me suspicious that it might have been old stock that the store wanted to get rid of. Plus the staff member that helped her, had a plastic glove on but it wasn't put on properly and her skin was exposed and her hand touched the first pie that she put in the packet. So at that moment my mom lifted her eyebrow at the staff member and she immediately fix her glove and the second pie wasn't touched by her hand. This is a health and safety issue.
But this is not the biggest part of the complaint. The biggest issue here is the customer service received from Pick 'n Pay's head office. When they called my mom they made excuses, and still praised their amazing staff that works for them. They wanted to refund my mom for the two pies or replace it. How insensitive. Why would my mom want to eat pies ever again? Both these options does not work, as my mom had medication bills plus petrol money if she had to drive all the way back to your store. I logged this complaint 28 September, it is almost a month later and this complaint still hasn't been resolved. Last time I heard from you was 9 October and it was an automated response from Zendesk. I'm shocked with Pick 'n Pay's service.
