Pick n Pay takes Smart Shopper Points & don't give stamps at Pick n Pay Clothing which is unfair

Yesterday, I went to the Pick n Pay Boksburg Hyper.

The shelves were practically empty, it was quite shocking and disappointing.

I then wanted to purchase three pairs of a specific boot which I had seen, but they never had my size. I then went to the Pick n Pay Clothing which is in another center along North Rand Road. They had the sizes which I required. The upsetting part and it may sound silly is, that if the Hyper had the sizes I required, I would have received my stamps, which I'm collecting for the pots, but because I had to go to the clothing store, I don't get the stamps, and I find this unfair.

Another issue which I have is that Smart Shopper points just disappeared and when I inquired about them, at the Hyper, I was told that now they expire. Well that's news to me. I was saving up and I find it so ********* of Pick n Pay to now just suddenly change the rules to the rewards program, and worst of all is that you don't notify customers of these changes. I never received an email or any other form of notification about this, because if I had, then I would have spent what I had before losing it, now it's gone and I had just over R300 on my card, which for a single mother is a lot.

I sent a complaint to Pick n Pay Customer service on Monday, it's now Thursday and no reply.

I think that after being such a loyal customer to Pick n Pay, it's time to change where I shop!

Good day Monique,

Thank you for choosing Pick n Pay and taking the time to write to us.

Please accept our apologies for any inconveniences caused to you.

The stamps unfortunately is only available at the Hyper stores therefore you did not get any stamps for your shop done at the clothing store. We will address the stock availability with store management.

Smart Shopper points are valid for 12 months from the time they’re earned. Only points older than 12 months will expire and not all of your points, and points older than 12 months will continue to expire on a rolling month basis. The best way not to lose your PnP rewards is to make sure you spend them from time to time. We always use your oldest points first so use your points to save even more on every day shopping or treat yourself to something special. You can switch points on the app or via the kiosk.

We are sorry you didn't receive the communication that points are valid for 12 months from earning date via our emails or on till slips.

We are busy addressing your complaint with the Smart Shopper Team. Please allow 5-7 working days for the amount to be loaded to your card.

We value you as a Pick n Pay customer and are committed to improve continually on our service levels.

Kind Regards,
Vanitha Venketas
