Pick n Pay stupid rules

I came directly from work yesterday. I had my company issued laptop worth R15000+ and my own personal valuables inside my bag. When I walked in the store and passing the information desk, I was told by security that I should leave my bag at the parcel counter. I was reluctant to do so as if my things go missing or damaged they are definitely not going to repay me or pay for damage of my property. I wanted bread and milk before I get home. Head of security then came to get me from the store saying this is the rule from management. He said all valuables including hand guns be left at the parcel counter. My argument is, Why is it females can walk in with hand bags filled with their own valuables?so why cant i go in with my own valuables? clearly \BAG"is the key word regardless of the type. This never happened at an other Pick n Pay store I've ever visited"
