Pick n Pay Staff Harassing Customers!

This review is for Pick n Pay Preller, Bloemfontein I live in Dan Pienaar, about 2 mins drive from PnP.. myself, wide and 8 year old daughter left the house 18.15 last night, we were back home around 18.45

We normally do our weekly shopping either Fri eve / Sat morning

I am in Pick n Pay Preller on average abour 3 - 4 times per week, all our grocecies, ciggies, water etc etc are bought at this store, we spend on average R6 - R8K per month in the store

My daughter noticed (not me, my little girl) security following us fairly soon after entering, from the hot food counter, I acknowledged this but ignored it (estimated about 15 customers in store ie almost no people). As we did our rounds I was looking at canned cat food and I was the only person in the isle on my knees (noticed security staring me down from the coke fridge, again ignored her), 3 staff passed me (almost walking on top of each other ie no social distancing) and the last person said excuse me sir your mask.. I pulled it up (my mask do slide down sometimes as they do). I then went to my wife in the chips / eggs isle and asked her if we are done, she said yes and I turned around, security at the entrance of the chocolate isle told me again about my mask (which had just slipped down) (old mask and I am waiting on 20 masks ordered for my business so I can replace this one). I pulled up my mask and ask her what her issue is following us through the store... she stuttered nothing, so I turned and walked (I was angry at this stage) and told her this is not right and then there were 3 or 4 staff in from off me saying is it regulations etc etc (again NOT adhering to social distancing).

I am not a confrontational person, so I squeezed through them going to a till (one if the ladies I spoke to also said to me: “oh you’re the customer and you are always right but…..” I ignored her ignorance), as we were at the till 3 customers passed the till behind us (more than 3) BUT 3 with the masks down below their noses, 1 of them passed the till twice… (2 of the staff in the confrontation were standing opposite the till for a few minutes and stared at us) no staff member reprimanded any of these people!!! I went up the what seemed like a Senior staff member (the one I squeezed passed) standing at a closed till with another staff member right next to each other. I simply asked him why these other customers were not told to put on their masks, can’t remember what he said but I turned around and said this is “bull…” NOT swearing at him but stating this is us being harassed AND he got aggressive jumped in front of me… I stepped to the side and went to the till (imagine how I felt at this stage)… my wife then went and calmly spoke to them ie they should also follow protocol as well as the clients and everyone should be treated the same!

At Preller there is a Checkers and a Spar, Northridge Mall also has a PicknPay… I am not brand loyal I buy at this store because it is quick and easy and we get what we need

Little bit about me (walking in PicknPay with my baggy clothes ion a Fri evening being harassed by Pick n Pay staff spending R6 – R8K per month in your store)

Really bad treatment for a weekly client of around 3 years now!
