Pick n Pay Southgate Utterly disgusting Management

On Saturday the 27th of February, We visited our local Pick n Pay Southgate Mall Store. Upon arrival at the till we noticed a laptop on display at R2499.99. We had decided to purchase the product, the cashier scanned the product at R3000.00. I was not happy this, as a big bold sign was there in red which displayed a different price. Baring in mind there was no expiration of Sale date on the display.

The sign was than hastily removed and given to the manager who did not even have the audacity to come to us to explain what was going on. I then approached management, who by now had acknowledged that it was the wrong price in a rude manner. I told him as per the CPA if there is no obvious error he has to sell it at shelf price. He continued to have a full on argument with a 8 month pregnant lady in middle of the store. This, after waiting almost 10mins like a fool for him to respond on the matter and scaffolding around the store with other cashiers on matter. Trying to pawn me a story which was inconclusive, stating that this laptop was a different model, I said bring. me the model incorrectly price, by now he changed his story stating that it is the model and pricing changed because the laptop now has a bag of which I deem unprofessional and not in line with the ethos of Pick n Pay. I took a picture of the original price displayed as evidence before the removal of the price tag.

Firstly, he did not show any remorse by apologizing for the error and **** to protect himself.

Secondly, the store was at capacity of over 300 people during the level 3 covid laws. There were no ques for the elderly, pregnant or disabled. Neither are there any signs which insist on inclusion.

Lastly, He insulted my intelligence in front of other shoppers instead of speaking to me in a polite manner. By telling me I can do whatever I want or report it to whoever I want, I will not be assisted and lying to my face.

At this point, I am utterly disappointed in the service rendered at Pick n Pay Southgate. I do not recommend it to anyone who seeks to have a good shopping experience.
