Pick n Pay Smart Shopper - Not such a smart choice!!

This was the initial email sent on the 11th May via the Pick n Pay website as a complaint:

CARD NO: ********** ********** 03

I went to your PNP Little Falls store on the 28th April to do my monthly shopping. Prior to shopping, I swiped my Smart Shopper card into the Kiosk to looks at my points available to spend. I stand to be corrected but it was between R165 - R167 available to spend.

When I went to the cashier to check out and spend my available points, I was told by the cashier that the card was BLOCKED! I was surprised as I did not block the card at the kiosk, why would I when I have credit available to spend??

When I called up the customer care line, they agent mentioned that the card was blocked and could not provide any further resolution to the issue.

I have spent quite a lot of money (well to me it is, anyway!) at the store just to have this wiped off the face of the earth and told that there's nothing that can be done for me.

I really feel ****** and disappointed. How can there be no record of my points? Is there no means of checking the transaction history on the card? Better still, get the store to zoom in on the kiosk at the entrance, they will be able to see what was displayed on the kiosk? I was there between 4-6pm.

I love shopping at your store, however I am really disappointed in the manner in which my query was dealt with. Especially the fact that I earned those points just to have it taken away with no consideration for the customer whatsoever.

I hope to hear from you soon.

******************************************************************************************

Further to this I sent another complaint via the website on the 18th to enquire whether they had any feedback.

Is this the way you treat your customer after we have spent all of our hard earned money at your stores? Utterly disappointed as I expected better!

Shame on you Pick n Pay!
