Pick 'n Pay scan to pay fail

I don't understand Pick 'n Pay announcing scan to pay technology at all their tills yet 99% of the time their tellers don't know what that is. Song and dance evey time. By contrast Checkers, which also recently implemented the payment solution is so simple to use. Dischem too for that matter. I guess Pick 'n Pay doesn't effectively communicate to or train their staff. I had a similar experience with smart shopper when it was first introduced. Again the Checkers experience was so much better.
