Pick n Pay Randfontein (Helikonpark) is the worst store to shop at

Pick n Pay Randfontein (Helikonpark) is the worst place ever to shop at. They have so many things standing in between the shelves that it's impossible for 2 people to pass each other, this is especially the case by the vegetables, juice shelve and coke fridge. Yesterday I wanted to buy coke, and they only had zero sugar. When I inquired about it I was informed that they are OUT OF STOCK! of coke??? seriously how is this possible. This was especially a problem during the first stages of the lockdown. They never had anything on their shelves and then the excuse of Covid19 was used. Why was this not the case at any of the SPAR stores of Checkers? They all had an abundance of products so why didn't Pick n Pay do the same? Another thing, during the whole of lockdown, they NEVER followed Covid19 regulations, and they let EVERYONE into their store like normal. You never have to wait outside. One thing that you have to understand, it is near impossible to practice social distancing in this specific store, as the space between the tills and where the shelves start just allows about ONE PERSON, then you have to queue down the shelves. So if someone is standing in line and someone else wants to shop, they are in each other's way. Because there are also fridges between where people need to queue and then other customers want to pass there and they have to fall over other customers to get to where they want to be.

The staff members are so rude. They will steamroller you out of the way just to get where they want to be, and they have no regard for customers shopping at their store. One of the ladies working at the pastries, look like it's such a huge pain to help a customer, because I have NEVER seen her smile. It looks like she doesn't want to help you and that you have now disturbed whatever she was doing. The security always stands in front of the magazine shelve and when you want to look at the magazines they barely move so you can take what you want.

Whenever we buy milk form them, it goes off before the expiry date on the container. We never have this problem when buying milk from Checkers or Spar, so their fridges are not working properly and at the end of the day it is just costing us more money to buy from Pick n Pay. This has not just happened once or twice this has happened a lot, I actually have lost count of the many times I had to throw away half a bottle of milk with and expiry date that is still to come. Not just milk but other dairy products too, like cream, sour cream, yogurt, even a steri stumpie. The frustration of having to go back every time to exchange is just not something I wish to go through.

Also when they close the store, they pack up everything half an hour before they close, so with the limited space in their store as it is, they move all the trolleys and machines etc inside the sore at the door where you enter, so now it's like an obstacle course just to enter the store. It really makes you feel like they are indicating you are not welcome to enter the store because they are ready to close and you are now taking up their time. There is always some tiles on their floors missing and the trolley wheels always get stuck in them. I have tripped over them more than once.

Overall I just feel that I wouldn't even give them 1 star rating as they deserve no stars at all, but unfortunately you have to select at least 1 star. The problem with Pick n Pay is that it is convenient to stop there, because it is close to home, nut the shopping experience is the worst I have ever had.

Believe me when I say that I am not the only one complaining about this pathetic store. But what bothers me is that management just really don't seem to care at all, they don't care if customers are happy or not as long as they make their money they just could't care less.

I will not shop at this store ever again and I would rather drive a little bit further to stop at Spar or Checkers. I hope others will also boycott them, because maybe then they will make a plan to make their store better for customers

But honestly I don't see that happening, because we have complained to them managers before and they just didn't care at all. It even looks like you are boring them when expressing your concerns and the fact that you are unhappy.
