Pick n Pay Ram Square does not need our smartshopper cards

I am disappointed with PnP Ram Square for the service I received today. I visited the liquor section and spent R217.98 for 5L Dry Red and 1 packet of Cheas Naks (135g) and 1 packet B/Corn Bite (120g). The cashier who assisted me did not even ask for my smartshopper (which we are encouraged to use each time we shop). I had it in my hand but without asking she used the store card. I asked her why she did not use mine and her response was that there are not even points to gain. The cashier's name on my receipt says Lebogang Kiwiet ( a lady with a haircut that has lines on the right hand side). What is the point of having a smartshopper if the store has its own to use? I understand if I don't have it, but not while I have it in my hand?
