Pick n Pay ****** Remarks - WITPOORTJIE

I visited Pick n Pay at Witpoortjie today just after 17:00 to get myself some bread. Because pick n Pay is three blocks away from my house I normally walk there to buy some Pick n Pay soft baked bread because it is cost effective and still fresh.

Pick n Pay baked read is not cut into slices and I normally use their bread cutting machine to cut it.

Today the machine did not cut the bread nicely because the bread came out broken at the slice edges and i had to take another loaf to cut since the one i had cut was badly damaged because of the machine.

My issue started when an old Pick n Pay white man came to me after seeing that the bread that i was cutting was cut very badly and he asked me what happened to the bread, I told him that the bread got stuck on the slice cutter machine and then i had to pull it out and that's when the bread got broken at the slice edges and i have to take it back and take another one.

I normally buy and cut bread at the same Pick n Pay almost everyday and i use the same machine to cut bread and I never experienced what the machine did today.

So the old man whom was referred to as MIKE ENGELBRECHT by one of his colleagues after i have asked for his name and surname since he never had a name tag.

After i had cut my another loaf of bread that was cut nicely an old man moved away to where other three white males were standing near the entrance where he started with ****** remarks and i heard him saying "These People cannot use slice cutter machine because they don't know how to use them or there is no slice cutter machine where they come from". Do we still have white people who behaves like this in South Africa?

I would however want to give credit to the guy who stand in the entrance sanitizing people when they come in. He has an excellent customer service whereby he spoke to me in a very calm and respectable manner. The man sanitizing customers when they come in must be promoted to a better position as he knows what is customer service.

Pick n Pay is a brand and i believe you wouldn't want your brand to be taken down by old man like this one who lived during apartheid and they still have that mentality. I, friends, relatives and family would never buy anything from this pick n pay.

After my experience today with this old man who is not supposed to work with living people but in the mortuary i further googled to check if this ****** remarks to customers is Pick n Pay culture and below is what i found and it made me believe that Pick n Pay is not a shop for me. For me to continue buying from Pick n Pay i would want to see this old man expelled as he is in a wrong industry he is supposed to work in a mortuary.
