Pick n Pay Promotional Items is a LIE - RAYDAY is ****

Absolutely the most pathetic online delivery service. I order groceries online twice a week and pick n pay is by far the worst service provider. Let’s talk about Rayday advertising without stock. My order was placed at 11am for the chicken that was on special. I was notified it was out of stock and chose another chicken item which was out of stock as well. How does a company advertise items that they do not have? Well let me tell you how. It was false advertising to gain customers through the door. I called the call centre 3 times. The first time I spoke to Vuyo who couldn’t understand what the issue was so he decided to drop the call. I decided to wait for Vuyo to call me back but I was running out of breath. I then called back and spoke to Karabo who put me on hold while having a conversation with her colleagues. So much laughter in the pick n pay call centre while customers are holding wasting their airtime. On my third call I spoke to a lovely lady who actually understood how to speak to people. She had advised that the advertising of the chicken was incorrect. It was all a mistake and therefore they did not sell the chicken. I couldn’t get an answer from her about how the issue would be resolved as even she did not have feedback about how to handle this case.

From what I understand a mistake in advertising can be easily rectified if the store has a sign up advising people that the price was incorrect. Instead the staff at the store are told to say the item is sold out. This is what had happened to me and I ended up going to 4 pick n pay stores in Durban looking for the special. Two staff members of different stores even told me they never had stock of the chicken and not sure if they will be getting.

So the moral of the story, pick n pay are *****. Management mistakes are being covered by asking staff to lie. Staff lie and receive bad comments on hellopeter. Staff get disciplined, management doesn’t deal with their mistakes. Such awful deception by a well known store. I tried to save a total of about a R100 from these specials instead I wasted R120 airtime trying to correct my order. Deleting this app. Checkers Hyper is definitely number 1 with deliveries, pick n pay should contact them for advise on how to run a company.
