Pick n Pay practice what you preach about "Fresh Foods"

Pick n Pay (Steeledale) sold me expired Big Jack pies that led me to getting sick of stomach cramps leading me to be absent from work. I went to the store with the one expired pies of the ten i bought along with the slip/receipt. To my shock and surprise I was told that the pies i might not have bought them at their store as if I was trying to **** the store or something. When asked to go through the footage of the day of purchase date to confirm otherwise (04.05.2021) I was told the footage don't last more than 7 days, that was my biggest shock that a reputable and huge hypermarket not having high end security system in this day and age. Anyway, one these pies expired on the 22.03.2021 I don't understand why would these pies still be doing on the shelves by then. Clearly it means a lot of people have been sold expired goods by the supermarket that prides itself with selling "Fresh Foods". I would like to encourage consumers to constantly check best before dates on products that are being sold there as it was my biggest mistake trusting that Pick n Pay sold "Fresh Foods". This made me to be absent from work for 3days due to having stomach cramps or food poisoning from consuming the expired Big Jack pies sold at Pick n Pay Steeledale Hypermarket. I was given a some of the refund of the 10 pies I bought but I think they should've paid for my medical bills and display a sense of concern towards their customers, as this was a risk to my wellbeing. The way this situation was handled it was unprofessional and not pleasing.
