Pick n Pay not honoring price!

Pick n Pay not honoring their price. I looked online for a case of giblets gin - Makro was at R1428, Pick n Pay normal price was R1571.49 and online was R1377. I called the Northgate branch and spoke to Muza Twala to enquire if I can come and get out at R1377 and if he had a case. He said he would check and call me back which he did and said I could come and get it at R1377. I arrived there this morning at 11am. Muza was on tea buy had left the case ready for me. The lady on the tills could not authorize the price so called mr Mahuhushi. After explaining to him that Muza said I could come and get the case, he said he would arrange get the case barcode and arrange it for me. He then came back and said he couldn't do it and I need to speak to the store manager. Mr Henry Bord came along - I explained the whole story again. Henry then asked Muza what his side was and Muza then tried to explain there were 2 prices on the system - the more expensive and the online price but would not confirm that he said I could come and get it at the cheaper price. Henry said - in that case, the price is R1571.49 and they would not honor the price that they had confirmed telephonically. Now I ask you seriously - why would I have phoned to confirm the price and availability first. Why would I then have driven 15 minutes to Northgate to come and fetch it IF the price was not going to be honored and I could have saved time and frustration by going to Makro? Mr Bord was totally unhelpful and on top of that, took the word of Mr Twala who had confirmed the deal price telephonically but now declined the price?? At 11-15am I left the store along with the rest of my intended purchases to go and make my purchase at Makro. At 11-20am on route to Makro, Mr Bord called me to say, considering you have driven all the way, you can come and get the gin at the price Muza quoted on the phone? Why - after not honoring the price and having let me leave the store dissatisfied, would he even think I would come back in the first place after all that frustration? Pick n Pay, thats not on! and it's very simple, you can be assured that I make no further purchases at any Pick n Pay for anything in future.
