Pick n Pay Norwood Pathetic Once Again

I went shopping at Pick n Pay Norwood JHB this afternoon and bought 2 packs, so I assumed, of fresh pears at R22.99 per pack. I checked as best I could without opening both packs to make sure that the contents were all ok. When I got home and opened both packs to empty into my fridge compartment I noticed that 3 of the pears from 1 pack were half rotten and had to be thrown away. The fruit from the 2nd pack was fine. I looked on the plastic bag that the rotten fruit came from to see if I could find any date to check if I'd purchased out of date fruit but there was nothing at all. After experiencing the rude way the staff member had behaved in when I had asked him where I could find the said pears I'm now not surprised that they were in the state that I found them to be in. The staff member in question was seated at the scale where one weighs fruit and veges and all he did was point in the general direction and not bother himself to get up and show me exactly where I could find the pears as I would have expected. I still struggled to find them but wasn't going to bother the guy as he'd made it quite clear that I was troubling him. After I paid for my groceries I went to the Food *****s Market also in the Norrwod JHB center and while I was there I asked one of their staff members where I could find pears just to compare stores. This person walked half the store to take me to where I could find what I'd asked him about which I truly appreciated after the despicable service I'd received from PnP. The pears were in excellent condition and were also 2/3 of the PnP price - R14.99 - so I purchased a pack as I'm sure they will last a reasonable period of time. They were absolutely delicious as I had 1 with my lunch today. I've not eaten a single PnP pear as yet as I was put off by having to chuck out 3. I've kept the packaging and am thinking that I might return them to PnP as I could be better off buying 2 more packs from FLM and have some change. I've learn't never to complain in the PnP store as on every occasion that I've asked for the store manager he's never been around so I'm told, no matter when I'm there either during the week or on a weekend and I'm forced to have to deal with some totally *********** lady who spends her time sitting and chatting to the ladies who work at the counter where one pays utility bills. On the last occasion that I wrote a complaint about this very store on hellopeter.com I was amazed that I received an email a couple of weeks later from an individual who claimed to be the store manager asking for my contact details as he wanted to get in touch with me urgently. Even though all this individual had to do was look up my smart shopper card details on his system and call me, I responded with my contact number immediately and to this day I'm still waiting for him to get back to me. It's been more than a year so I've got my mind set to understand that PnP management don't care a damn about their clients. From now I shall always start my shopping trips at the FLM and purchase whatever fresh fruit and veges I am able to from them before I take a single step into PnP. If I could find another supermarket close by, as I have a very small amount of money coming in each month to live off, I would surely never go anywhere near a PnP store ever again, but sadly the nearest shop not a PnP is far too distant for me to have to waste my very hard earned money traveling to and the Woolworths in the mall in Norwood and the Spar up the road from where I stay are way beyond anything I can afford so it seems for the near future I'm stuck with PnP and its terrible service and products.
