Pick n Pay - NO Cashback

Yesterday I wanted to withdraw cash (R 3000.00) at Pick n Pay, Crecent in Umhlanga and I was advised by the teller that they do not have cash. I asked her to ask her supervisor to check in the back office or with someone else, as that is normally what they do. The supervisor (Anele) came to the till point, said "We don't have cash". I asked her what the maximum is she could offer me, she looked at me and said we don't have cash, as though I could not understand her. She muttered something under her breath and walked away. I told the teller that is unacceptable behavior, and she needs to provide a reason as to why they don't have cash, as they offer a service and that is always their excuse. The teller then called the manager (Melanie), who then called the supervisor back and asked her what is going on. The supervisor said she went to check if there was cash. The manager told her she needs to inform the customer (me) what she is doing, and I don't know what she is thinking. She then came back to say that they don't have cash. I told the manager that it is unacceptable that they do not have cash, they offer a service and every time we request cashback, they always don't have. Further, it is a busy period and most people like myself do not like using ATMs. They should be better prepared for this period. Her response was the "Bank did not come as yet"??? The teller did manage to provide me R 500.00, which was way short of what I requested. They have signed up to offer a service with the banks and yet they always don't provide the service.

Now this is not the first time this has occurred. Almost every time when I ask for cash, they immediately say we don't have without even checking how much I want and most times it is between a R 100 and R 200.

I will also be reporting this matter to the NCC.
