Pick n Pay Loch Logan - Disgustingly Poor Service
Please deal with your staff at the Pick n Pay in Bloemfontein, Loch Logan.
Firstly, starting my shopping I should have known then that I should turn back but I gave the staff the benefit of the doubt and continued shopping. In the fruits and vegetables section of the store I was looking for full mushrooms, and they only had the sliced mushrooms. One of the staff walked towards the fridge with the full ones I was looking for, so I thought I should wait for her. While waiting for her, one of the male packers wanted me to make way for him to pass and he could clearly see me waiting for the mushrooms. No attempt to try assist me or anything, and he could clearly see there's no space for him to pass but he forced himself through. I let them be.
Secondly, as we were headed to pay we were rushed to finish up and go because they're closed. Also assuming that we speak a different language, I'd assume it's sesotho. Thirdly and lastly I requested from the cashier that we split the payment between 2 cards and I clearly said 50/50. She confirmed that it's possible. While waiting for her to process the request she just sat there staring blankly at me, when I raised my gaze at her she rudely says she's waiting for me. I ask what she's waiting for exactly.. she goes on to say that she cannot calculate the amount. I, the customer, need to calculate it myself. Shocked at this, I calculated it myself... on my phone, gave the amount the to process, and patiently waited for my receipt while she was chit chatting with her colleague at the next cash register. We had to intervene and tell her that her register is done and that's when we caught her attention. Those are just the top 3 issues I encountered. However, there is so much more that I experienced in that hour and a half.
I don't know or understand what training is provided for customer service in this particular store, but whatever it is, needs a drastic change or a do-over. I could have lost my temper and argue, but I chose the latter. Otherwise, I felt and still feel disgusted at the treatment I received at this store. Terrible service, terrible staff, there are packers in the store but no products, overall a huge disappointment in the retail industry with extremely poor hospitality.
I expect something to be done and would like for it to be communicated.
