Pick n Pay lies abt times & rude manager VIJAY

PnP Malvern has disgusting service!!! It’s a national lockdown. We are told to ONLY leave our homes for essential items. So, on 2 April 2020, we called PnP Malvern before going to the store. The lady who answered the phone said the store closes at 6pm. We got there at 5.15pm. A person names MARCUS (along with two security guards at the door) refused to let my husband and I in. (Note, we had gloves and masks on.) He said that the store was closed. We asked to see the manager. About 4 other customers arrived. 10 min gone by and the manager refused to come out. Another gentleman was frustrated and demanded to see the manager. Then the Assistant Manager VIJAY came out. Absolutely f%#$ing rude!!!! Told us that he can’t let us in. over 25 min had gone by. When I pointed out that the receptionist said the store closes at 6pm, he said that doesn’t matter. And he doesn’t care what she said. Then he told Marcus to please scratch out the signage and rewrite the times. Customers had gathered and were furious at this point. Team members of the community watch advised that it would be circulated and people should rather go to Checkers and Spar – where they are spoken to respectfully. Vijay started shouting at patrons and walked away whilst we were speaking. Marcus told us that 6pm on the board meant that everyone must be out of the store at 6pm. THIS IS WRONG. We are not stupid. Like me, there are people who needed essentials for dinner. Some probably went HUNGRY. This behaviour by PnP is disgusting. I will be circulating this experience. PnP Malvern fought and argued with customers for over 30 minutes when it would have taken just 5 minutes to let us buy bread…AN ESSENTIAL item. So ****** humiliating. Another floor manager, white guy who’s name I didn’t get, said that unfortunately it wasn’t his call. The Store manager never came out. When I left, some patrons were still waiting. No one cares. This is a time of crisis and this is how Pnp Malvern behaves??? My experience yesterday left me speechless. PnP Malvern is pathetic!!! I will never support you again. I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU A NEGATIVE RATING. Note, I have approached them via calls and social media. They are ignoring me.
