Pick n Pay Hyper south coast

I purchased a TV from pick n pay hyper ,arbour crossing on the 15th of February 2012 ,on the 16th of February 2021 I unboxed and plugged the TV on, to my suprise the screen was cracked but this was only visible when the TV was switched on ,I immediately called the store , the store manager Suren said I should claim from my household insurance and there was nothing he can do however he did send 2 sales people out the next day to inspect the tv and **** and said I asked for someone to come out when I asked why did they come out , My son then called hisense to see if they could assist and all consultants advised that the TV was supposed to be taken back to the store for a credit, Hisense then sent a technician out who stated in his report that the TV was cracked and it is not covered under their warranty, my son then called pick and pay head office who also investigated and said that they can not assist based on the tv being shown to us in the store, the argument is that I did not have any interaction with the tv from the time it was unbox in the store to the time that it was boxed back so who's to say that the person putting the TV back into the box did not damage the TV but I am being blaimed for breaking the TV, pick n pay has no proof of such yet I am now sitting with a R9000.00 item that I can not use, please can someone assist me,Pick n pay and its management are just taking advantage of elderly customers without any proof because they think that they can get away with it
