Pick n Pay Hyper Brackenfell took my money and my compressor

I bought a Ryobi air compressor from Pick n pay Hyper on Thursday the 17 December. After I went trough the booklet I assemble the machine and started it. After 5 minutes it just stop working. This morning, Monday the 21 December I took it back...all the way from De Doorns. The manager told me that he first have to phone Ryobi before he can make a decision. So, I was waiting. After an hour and a half somebody from Ryobi answers. It seems that I am the reason for the break down and they will come and get the compressor from Pick a Pay. So we had to do some paperwork! My decision to buy this machine is not only because it was a good price, but because it has a 2 year guarantee. When I confronted the manager that Pick n Pay have to take responsibility, they are the people who took my money, he told me that they have nothing to do with it. It is part of their policy to give the matter to the supplier. I ask him why he did not warn me of their policy before I bought the compressor. So he told me it is written in the booklet coming with the compressor in the box. So, before you buy anything from them, open the box and read the policy. My point is that, after saving for a compressor I wanted to use in my holiday time, I am now without my money and without a compressor. From the side of the manager their was no sympathy. He actually warn me that if the engine is seriously damage, it is not part of the guarantee. It was just such an astonishing conversation. His promise is that normally it takes 21 days for repairing something like this - When it is not season time. I never experienced something like this. Even the guy from Ryobi accuse me of not putting oil in the compressor. So I come back to De Doorns. I spend half of my day waiting for a Pick n Pay manager to contact a supplier. The trip cost me another R600. So, I feel ******. At this stage I just want to forget that it happen ...because i dont think I will get my money or my expenses or my compressor back.
